Cloudera Platform
Cloudera's hybrid data platform, providing data services for ingestion, engineering, warehousing, streaming and AI that run on-premises or in public cloud.
Partner solutions
Cloudera is a hybrid data platform that security teams use to move, enrich and retain log data at scale and ease SIEM load. TOM SHAW is an authorised Cloudera partner that supplies, implements, integrates and supports Cloudera across Australia.

Hybrid data platform for security data
Cloudera is a hybrid data platform for collecting, storing, governing and analysing large volumes of data across on-premises and cloud environments. Cloudera is not a security product itself; security teams use it to move, enrich and retain log and event data at scale, to reduce the load on a SIEM, and to run analytics and anomaly detection over long histories of security data.
More about the platform on the Cloudera website.

A data movement service powered by Apache NiFi that collects, routes and transforms data from many sources to many destinations across data centres and clouds.
Cloudera's unified security and governance layer, using Apache Ranger for access policy and masking, Apache Atlas for lineage, and automated encryption in transit.
SQL analytics over large data sets, suited to querying long histories of log and event data for investigations and reporting.
Tools for building and running machine learning models on governed data, which can be applied to behaviour analytics and anomaly detection.
Cloudera Data Flow can filter, enrich and route log data before it reaches the SIEM, while full-fidelity data is kept on Cloudera for longer-term analysis.
Security logs, network telemetry and asset data can be consolidated on one governed platform for threat hunting, investigations and compliance reporting.
Streaming data services process events as they arrive, allowing detection of unusual behaviour, fraud and attack patterns close to real time.
SDX applies consistent access control, masking, classification and lineage, so sensitive data is protected however and wherever it is analysed.

No. Cloudera is a data platform. It is used in security programmes to collect, store and analyse large volumes of security data, often alongside a SIEM, and it has its own security and governance controls for the data it holds.
Cloudera can take over high-volume log ingestion, filtering and enrichment, and keep data for long periods at lower cost, so the SIEM receives the events it needs while the full history stays available for investigation.
Shared Data Experience (SDX) is Cloudera's security and governance layer. It applies consistent access policies, data masking, classification and lineage across Cloudera data services using Apache Ranger and Apache Atlas.
Cloudera Data Flow is built on Apache NiFi, the open source data movement project, and adds Cloudera's own design, catalogue and deployment tools around it. On premises it is delivered as Cloudera Flow Management, and a Kubernetes operator is available for running flows on a cluster you already manage.
Both. Cloudera runs in data centres and on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and Cloudera describes the same services and shared governance across those environments. Individual services can differ by cloud, so check each one you plan to use: Cloudera's documentation for Data Warehouse lists AWS and Azure.
It is Cloudera's lakehouse built on the Apache Iceberg table format, combining data lake storage with data warehouse style queries. Through the Iceberg REST Catalog, other engines such as Apache Spark, Trino, Apache Flink and Snowflake can work with the same tables without the data being copied.
Through SDX, Apache Ranger policies can show data as it is, masked or hidden according to role and attributes, without making a copy. Cloudera Data Catalog classifies data automatically, Apache Atlas records lineage, and Kerberos and Auto-TLS are configured for the platform, with encryption in transit and at rest.
